Party-owned Global Times has reported that Chinese users have lost faith in domestic search giant Baidu’s services due to “scam ads,” adding that experts are calling for a return to China of Google’s search engine.
黨報《環球時報》報道,由于“詐騙廣告”,中國用戶對國內搜索巨頭百度的服務失去了信心,并補充說,專家們呼吁谷歌的搜索引擎回歸中國。
The report came after Yan Feng, a professor at prestigious Fudan University in Shanghai, accused Baidu of promoting scam ads that doubled his visa cost on China’s Twitter-like Weibo.
此前,上海復旦大學(Fudan University)教授嚴峰指責百度在中國推特微博上發布詐騙廣告,使他的簽證成本增加了一倍。
The Global Times article comes amid international controversy over Google’s plans to return to China, a market it left in 2010.
